Keys are the best gift you can ever provide this holiday season

MS is another example and proof that there are so many people wanting and willing to work their way back to self-sufficiency if given the chance. MS fell into hard times during the pandemic and found himself in a shelter, with not much in his pockets and even less hope.

HWH provided him the opportunity to learn a new trade, work to improve his situation, and the supports necessary to regain self-sufficiency in a lasting way. The HWH model is proven for MS and many others. Come visit our commercial kitchen and on any given day you will meet 12-18 students, people just like MS that are working their way back to being contributing members of society, and being self-sufficient for themselves and their families.

Supporting HWH provides the necessary supports for people to regain their self-worth, to overcome a long period of challenges:

  • Curriculum in all areas of professional cooking
  • Stipend of $500 per month while successfully in the program
  • Bus passes at $6 per day
  • Case Management
  • Employment training, interview skills, resume building and coaching
  • Job placement in a career earning $38k-42k with full benefits
  • Housing at no more than 30% of gross income
  • Rent for our 2400 square foot commercial kitchen
  • Food costs for lunch and leftovers for dinner

Support HWH and give someone their own keys to hope, training, and a fresh restart on life!

Our students are willing to put in the work and effort to earn their keys to their own apartment.  We need your help to provide the keys so they an earn their new future.  We are a holistic program helping people that are in many cases literally currently in a shelter, and helping them become housed, working and healthy again.  That is a full and complete restart in a very short time.

Just like the old adage, we teach people to fish, and they retake ownership of their lives. This is long lasting solutions to the increasing instances of people experiencing homelessness and housing instability throughout the entire metro area.
